Around this time of year I start thinking of my friend Kristy Casperson Swiderski. It will be her birthday on the 23rd. She is the one in the lower right corner of the picture. Kristy passed away on October 25th, 2006. No one should die when they are that young. She left behind a husband and two young children. Kristy was an amazing person who will be missed by a lot of close friends. People just naturally loved being with Kristy, she had that most incredible sense of humor. I love her and I miss her. I pray that her family will be blessed and that her children will feel her love whenever they need her.
I was just thinking of her today too. I can pull up her smile so easily in my head. Sometimes I feel like I can just play a little slideshow of her and funny moments that I had with her. The crazy thing is, anyone who knew Kristy could easily do the same thing. I hope her sweet kids get smothered in stories of what an amazing lady their mom was and how much I know she loved them. Oh, I miss that crazy girl!
ReplyDeletei remember when you were all selling candles to help her--you guys loved her and wanted to help and i think that makes you pretty rare.
ReplyDeletecute photo, btw--who is the wankster in the background doing bunny ears?
I remember her although I never knew her well. I didn't know that she had passed away though-so sad! That is a cute picture of all you gals.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be thinking of Kristy... thanks for posting this Kasi. She was the best!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us of her birthday. That is a great picture and I remember taking that picture so vividly like it was yesterday. Oh the dresses and the hairstyles! We were beautiful, weren't we?
ReplyDeleteKasi,
ReplyDeleteI hope you dont mind that I am leaving you a comment, but I saw you at the Colbie concert and finally asked Yale who you were. (I have occasionally seen you,and have always thought that you looked so familiar.) Anyways, he told me that you were Mikell's sister, and that he went to school with you. But I have seen your name on a couple of my friends, so thought I would check it out. Hope you dont mind. Talk to you later.
P.S. Tell Mikell Hi, I see her running around Greensprings...amazing.
That is great kasi, man I just can't believe it, I emailed joe but haven't heard back, I am sure they are all doing well, Thanks
ReplyDeleteKasi Thanks for the post! I remember the Casperson family, they were all so special and had such a neat family! I am so sad about the loss of Kristy, it is so sad to loose someone close and someone who was so needed here! It is a good reminder to be thankful for our own life and remember the good things that the person we lost and loved did and do better for them!Take care, Kelsi
ReplyDeleteI hope you dont mind me leaving a comment on your blog, I just happened to stumble upon it and saw this post.
ReplyDeleteKristy and the family were in my ward a long time ago. She was so amazing and had such an impact on my life. I miss her dearly...
thanks for the post
Hi, I'm a friend of Kristy's from Snow College - was wondering what kind of cancer did she die from? And how long was it between her diagnosis and her passing? Thanks
